We would like to congratulate and thank our joint hosts, IAJapan, JAB and VLAC, for organising a most successful week of meetings in Osaka from 4-10 December 2010. All delegates appreciated our hosts hospitality, especially the formal dinner when the ladies from the Secretariat room dressed in their beautiful kimonos.
At the recent MRA Council meeting AIHA-LAP, LLC (USA) was accepted as a signatory to the APLAC MRA for testing and the recognition of JAB (Japan) was extended to include inspection. Congratulations to AIHA-LPA, LLC and JAB.

At the recent GA meetings Ms Chang Kwei Fern of SAC was elected to the position of APLAC Chair for a 2 year term commencing 1 January 2011.
Mr Barry Ashcroft of IANZ re-elected as MRA Council Chair for a further two year term commencing on 1 January 2011.
Ms Roxanne Robinson of A2LA, Ms Regina Robertson of NATA and Mr Vu Xuan Thuy of BoA were elected to the 3 vacant positions on the APLAC Board of Management for 2 year terms, commencing 1 January 2011.
Mr Terence Chan of HKAS now becomes Immediate Past Chair.
Dr Koichi Nara (IAJapan) was elected to the position of Proficiency Testing Committee Chair. Ms Zhang Mingxia (CNAS) was re-elected as Training Committee Chair, Mr Trace McInturff (A2LA) was re-elected as Technical Committee chair and Mr Alan Patterson (NATA) was re-elected to the position of Public Information Committee Chair. These appointments are for two years, commencing 1 January 2011. Mr Patterson has since resigned as Chief Executive of NATA and, as such, also as Chair of the PIC. APLAC hopes to announce a new Chair for this Committee very soon.
APLAC 2011 will be held in Manila from 10-16 September 2011, hosted by PAO”.
